Steve is merely the keeper of the records - unless he has been hiding an interest from us all . They will be just records they have been passed for that part of Rochdale, he my have more i will email me him and see.
Thanks for that info Dave, I have looked and that lichen is not on the list. You said that the Rochdale list was provided by Steve Atkins - does that mean that he recorded them and knows about lichens??? - If yes - let me at him - I need his brain.
Paul, when I went into Nan nook woods on Monday there was a lot of "landscaping" work going on, big woodchip path creation, log steps, little bridges and some tree felling. No sign of fly tipping in the part that I was in but I didn't hang about as it was starting to get a bit dark and it didn't strike me as being the safest place to be on my own when it was getting a bit dark. I think that I heard a Great spotted woodpecker calling (not drumming) but I am not positive so I didn't record it (I need to improve my ability to I.D. birds from calls and songs). I will keep my eyes peeled for Lesser spots over the winter as I assume they must be much more difficult to see once the trees come into leaf. If you fancy a walk round your old patch give me a shout, there is some good fungi spotting to be had.
Nan nook woods, has over the last few years been spoiled by flytippers, not seen the Lessers for a few years, in fact last time they were over by the bowling green.
Wythenshawe park is huge under-watched area I used to cover it in the 80,s.
Total sightings from a walk round some of the tetrad 3.1.11 and other miscellaneous sighting from the garden (and the house - the blue bottle lead me a merry dance fro 20 minutes until I could contain it and I.D. it)

A good tetrad Debs. Chorlton Water Park should through up some interesting sightings in particular during the year. I wonder if Nan Nook Wood still has it's Lesser Spotted Woodpecker? No doubt a target species and a half! Will be searching for it myself so if it's found will let you know. Thanks. Henry.

SJ79K 2011 Wildlife Total - 542 (Latest additions - Perennial Coneflower, Red Bartsia, Wild Oat)
This tetrad has a wooded part of Wythenshaw Park (Nan Nook Wood), about a quarter of Chorlton Water Park, Sale Golf Course, a small section of the River Mersey, some playing fields, small farms / small holdings, stables and a little bit of what I would call Kenworthy woods. All that lot only covers less than a third of the tetrad, the rest being roads, houses and gardens, with my house and my garden included.
Also during early 2011 until mid 2016 a new Metro line is going to be built which will run right through the middle of SJ89A, across the Mersey and into Chorlton.
